What's a Haka?

November 2021

 

Our students of 2nd ESO could train and improve their English skills by doing a research about the Haka dance for Music. They analyzed the element of rhythm in this special kind of dance, discovered traditions from different cultures, and the origin of music and dance. They also improved their digital skills by using apps to create a presentation with the information collected. 

Nuestro alumnado de 2º de ESO pudo entrenar y mejorar sus habilidades en inglés realizando una investigación y preparando estas presentaciones de diapositivas para la materia de Música, sobre la danza Haka. Al mismo tiempo, analizaron el elemento del ritmo en este tipo especial de danza, descubrieron las tradiciones de culturas diferentes y el origen de la música y la danza, y mejoraron sus habilidades digitales.

Learning Maths with the Scottish flag!

 

30th November, 2021 

The 30th November is St. Andrew's Day, patron saint of Scotland. Taking advantage of this celebration, students in 2nd ESO and 4th ESO have worked in Math with the Scottish flag. 

In 2nd ESO, students worked on proporcionality. In 4th students students worked on the Pythagorean theorem, quadratic equations, and radicals. 

What a great way to learn Maths and British culture!

 

El 30 de noviembre se celebra el Día de San Andrés, patrón de Escocia. Con la excusa de dicha fecha, el alumnado de 2º y 4º ESO trabajaron en la asignatura de Matemáticas con la bandera de Escocia. 

En 2º ESO, usaron la bandera escocesa para trabajar la propocionalidad, y en 4º ESO fue la excusa perfecta para estudiar el Teorema de Pitágoras, las ecuaciones de segundo grado y los radicales. 

¡Una gran forma de combinar matemáticas y cultura británica! 

 

What are the lab rules?

Our 2nd ESO students have got a new subject this year: Physics and Chemistry. In the past few weeks, students have learnt the lab materials' names in English and they've also learnt the rules to follow in the lab. Well done, guys!

Nuestro alumnado de 2ºESO tiene una nueva asignatura este curso: Física y Química. Durante las últimas semanas, el alumnado se ha familiarizado con el nombre de los materiales de laboratorio en inglés y ha aprendido cuáles son las normas que debemos seguir en el laboratorio. ¡Bien hecho, chic@s!

 

 

Using interactive notebooks to organise ideas and info

Students have been using 'interactive notebooks' in different subjects this term. These are really useful, as they help students to organise and manipulate information in a simple way, making it easier to remember and understand. 

En algunas asignaturas, nuestro alumnado ha comenzado a utilizar 'libretas interactivas'.  Son un elemento muy útil, ya que ayudan al alumnado a organizar y manipular físicamente la información de manera sencilla, facilitando su comprensión.
